VZ24 quaity
In quality comparison, how does the Czech VZ24 compare to the German manufactured 98K ? Truth here no bias .[:)]

Second that. The Germans invaded the Czechs early and put much of their armaments industry to good, rapid use. They were already buying the 33/40 Falschirmjager rifloe from the Czechs, the VZ 24 as well, so if for those two weapon systems alone it would have been a good move to expropriate the plants producing them. Put into the mix the Brno guns like the VZ26 that morphed into about every armies larder in the war at some point or another, and the T38 light tank(not the Soviet design)that the Germans put to excellent use early in the war (the Marder tank was built on the T38 chassis)and the Czechs fate was sealed immediately.
The German Wehrmacht and Waffenampt boards considered the VZ24 to be substitute first line to be issued in place of the K98k where neccessitated, so I think it's a good bet they were always a good gun.
Ouch! Sorry to hear about the SVT-40...they have been steady value holders over the years and will likely not get cheaper! I let go a Lion crest a few years ago. Not one of my better decisions as it was super pretty and shot very well. As always I got something more valuable and made out in the long run but sometimes the memories are tough to live with! Wish I were independently wealthy.0 -
Yes, the Czech Model-24 is a first rate Mauser-type rifle. Soon my VZ-24 will be going on the auction block. It is not all matching numbers but it is really a nice rifle, with beautiful walnut stock. I am starting to pare down my inventory and the VZ-24 and a really nice Soviet SVT-40 (1944) will be going on the auction block. 0 -
Thanks for the input fellows. I have always felt the Czech VZ24 was a quality weapon, but wanted additional input to fortify my position. 0
