It has been many years since I've fired an example, they are pretty much collectors items now. The only real issue with the gun is that it could be finicky about ammo; you really needed to use nothing but 2-3/4" 00 magnum loads if you wanted to ensure that it functioned properly. LE agencies don't always want shotguns loaded with buckshot in every situation and this really limited the Model 10 because it could not use bird shot or non lethal loads. For the civilian shooter who runs nothing but full house loads through the gun it will work fine. The B Model is the improved version that lacks the built in flashlight (which used to break after about 10 shots!) and has a rail mount for various optics. Parts are no longer available and if your gun does not laready have the extended magazine you are limited to the smaller four shot magazine which was standard. There is nothing wrong with these guns; they worked fine and were quite compact. There has been considerable interest in bull pup shotguns within the last decade so the HS Model 10 may ahve just been ahead of it's time.
