Colt Combat Commander 70 Series
I need info and value for a Colt Series 70 Combat Commander. 4" barrel, nickel finish. 90-95% engraved by Jeff Flannery. 100% NIB, never fired or racked. 2 Piece box in great shape. Has Stag white/brown grips. Serial number is 70SC-56933. Slide is stamped: "Colt PTFA Co. Hartford, Ct. USA. Perfect firearm. All original paperwork included. It looks to me like a MKIV/Series 70 except for the 4" barrel. Any information and help would be appreciated.....Just checked out serial number...manufactured in 1973

All Colt 1911's look alike, but the MKIV/series 70 is a different model from the Combat Commander, which is the all steel version of the Commander. It seems you have answered your need for "info" yourself. The Blue Book value is $1100.00 in 100% condition + 10% for NIB cond which yours sounds like would qualify since it has not even been racked.
I have a Series 70 Combat Commander in Satin Nickel I bought new back in the 70's. Its has had a couple hundred rounds thru it but still looks new.0 -
Even if you posted photos, I don't think we could hazard even a SWAG on the value. It's not "new", since it's been commercially engraved & refinished. Customized guns, even those done by a professional, appeal only to a small segment of the market. The only way to know for sure what it's worth is to list it for absolute sale at auction.

Neal has again come up with the most correct statement . A non Factory engraved gun has very little in common with BLUE BOOK value . While most shooters and gun fanciers admire engraved guns to some extent. A Collector looking for a NEW in the box pistol.THIS pistol is not you can't engrave a gun without RACKING the slide and refinishing the pistol after engraving. of a certain make or model will be turned off by the fact that the gun has been refinished and NOT as it left the factory. If the potential BUYER likes Bling he may pay more but most collectors would pay less or not want the gun at all. 0 -
