Pretty cartridges
Ok, normally, I don't care how "pretty" the finished cartridges are. However, I am doing some work to a family heirloom 44 magnum and I will be presenting it back to my father-in-law. I want to include 6 44 mag cartridges and 6 44 special cartridges. I want them to be nice and shiny to be included in a presentation box. I was thinking nickel plated. What bullets would look the best? (I think silver would be cool, but obviously not feesible.)

I think if you could find some of the old winchester silvertips that had the full aluminum
coated bullets, you could shine them up pretty good. Here is example http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=202484677 bob0 -
You could polish them by hand with some Flitz, JB Paste or (better) some Nevr-Dull. Then give them a coat of clear lacquer to preserve the "purdy." 0 -
Dare I mention those cop killing, depleated uranium cored, Earth's mantel penetrating, red headed step-child beating, BLACK TALONS??
[:p]
I find that the black bullet in a nickle case really looks nice. For presentation, I don't think you could find anything better.0 -
+1 on the silvertips. Put them in nickel brass and you have a nice sleek fully chromed round. 0 -
unless I want to have to "maintain" the shineyness (is that a word?) of the brass, I would load them in nickle plated cases. 0 -
