Remington 700 DOM

Need help with dom on a Remington 700 270 cal serial #E6497849 barrel code is CI and looking at the sticky on the forum this could be made in April 1976 or April 1988 how can I tell which year. Any info is always appreciated.

  Hi; I'm looking for date of mfg. for my Remington 700 .243. There are no barrel codes on it, just serial no. 66345291. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance, Mike

  Hello mikecarol63---This may be obvious to you, but is the Bbl. in question the original Rem. Bbl. with the roll marks? If it is a replacement Bbl. there won't be any date codes. Just a thought.. HAWKSHAW
