lyman scope mount to winchester 72a
iam buying a winchester model 72a, with a grooved receiver. how would you mount an old lyman long tube scope on this rifle? can anyone help me here? thank you. gayland

Welcome. The old long tube Lyman target scopes, or the Lyman 438 hunting scope would be mounted on the barrel, just like a lot of the old Weaver scopes were mounted to the model 72. However, since yours has the grooved receiver, why not mount one of the early type scopes that were designed for this specific feature? 0 -
