My husband and I are moving from California to Minnesota. He has a rifle that I'd like to have valued so we can decide if we turn in to police to dispose of or try to sell it. It is a Glenfield 30A rifle serial 24012755 which I believe makes the year 1976. It has a Glenfield scope, original strap and original case. All are in good condition. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

You are welcome to bring you firearms out of Cal to Minnesota. You do not have the same restrictions and no registration of guns in MN.

    Welcome to MN

Have no idea why you would turn the rifle in to the police- it is the lesser grade of the Marlin 336C- the second most popular deer rifle in the US- and could be useful in MN. These were made with a plainer finish, hardwood instead of walnut, but very well made and reliable rifles. The "book" value runs from about $150-$200, depending on condition. The scope and sling will add a few (not many, but a few) $$$ to that. You can sell it- although guns are a buyer's market right now, prices are down a bit- but it is not against the law to take with you when you move.
