I don't think the two are interchangable. Before you get started buying odds & ends to put one together, find a magazine at a gun show or other location and try sliding it in. This would be the quickest way to determine if the two would work.

I did a search in the forums and came up with this link below. Check it out and try for yourself....if you wish.....

Changing calibers on the FN Browning Model 1910 or 1922 is easy. Usually all you need to do is change the barrel. The slides have a flat breech so the two rounds fit fine. The 32 auto magazine because the round is a semi-rim generally allows the rimless .380 to feed. Depends upon your magazine, sometimes you do need to change mags. The frames are the same unlike the Browning designed Colt 1903/1908. Something to note about the making of these pistols. The frame, slide and barrel are matched at the factory. So if you change barrels the rear mating surface of the slide and frame may no longer line up. The rear area of these Browning designed pistols are uncontrolled and may not match when any of the three are changed.

Check Numrich Arms and see if the part numbers are the same for the critical items. Slide, frame, magazine and recoil spring. Even if you can make it work...I wouldn't do it. Energy generated by the 380 ACP is more than the 32 ACP...you will beat the slide and frame up. Means heavier slide and stronger recoil spring may be needed. Also I don't think the magazines are not the same, the 380 ACP is a little wider and so is the magazine well in the 380 ACP frame.

The FN Browning Model 1922, like the Model 1910 it was derived from, was designed from day one for both calibers. There was no reason for FN to complicate the production lines by making some frames and slides to handle higher pressures than others, so they didn't. All frames and slides are able to handle .380 pressures.

I believe you are mistaken about the Colt. I have converted a .32 to .380 by changing the barrel, magazine, and slide. No real fitting was required, just a hit with a file since there was 25 years between the .32 and the .380.
