HK 91
Trying to find out what this might be worth for my father to sell it...he thinks it was 1980 and less than 500 rounds through it. Thanks.

Just acquired a Century Arms g3 clone from my dad. I am aware that this isn't the best clone out there but it looks very well made in and out. I am curious about changing out the rear sight to genuine HK or JLD, mainly cause JLD has the all peep sight. Also, I wanted to replace the tropical foregrip with the wide style so I can mount a bipod to it.
The question is, would there be any fitting issues with this gun. I've heard that the JLD clones wont accept the HK wide foregrip and I just wanted to make sure that the Century's do.
Anybody comes through that door, you put two in the chest and one in the head!0 -
Figure on somewhere around $2000 0 -
It's a fairly early one. The "HH" proof date is 1977. I would check the two big online gun auctions for actual selling price(s) for HK 91's, to get an idea of a ballpark value. The telescoping stock, sling and extended capacity mag will also add value. 0 -
The stock ads about $175-200 over a fixed stock version, so keep that in mind when pricing...I just picked up a used one for my PTR-91 for $160
very nice rifle BTW0 -
$2200-2400 w that stock.
Would have been more 2 years ago.

yep. what he said.
The SACO gray guns will pay a bit more for the collector if it's had little use.0 -
Depending on the circumstances, if you look around, you can find prices for HK accessories (scope mounts, buffers, extra stocks, etc) are a lot more reasonable than they once were.
As this is a genuine HK and they are not being imported anymore, I would keep it in the family, accessorize it, and shoot it.0 -

Thank you all for the input. Which other gun auction site can I check out aside from gunbroker?
Starting to think that maybe he should keep it now, clean it up a bit and use it as one person suggested.
This one here is over 2k with 4 days left with no retractable stock. May be a little cleaner though, I'm not sure. He has basically left it alone for probable close to 10 years now...how often should it be cleaned or oiled when just sitting?
