Colt Army special *pictures added*
Trying to put a value on a 1926 Colt Army Special,6" bbl, 32/20 blue, in very good condition. Blue is about 80%. There is a visible drag line on the cylinder, replacement grips. A couple small pits near the end of the barrel, on the outdside. Bore is good, with the exception of a small corrosion spot, about the size of two pencil points. The gun lock ups real tight, and looks like it wasn't fired very much. I will post some pictures later, but am using my work computer right now.
I would sincerely appreciate your thoughts on this. Looking at completed auctions, I'm guessing $400 low, to $700 high.
Thanks, Dan

From your description, 32-20, 80%, replacement grips, pitting, etc. $400 is a pipe dream, IMHO. $150-$300 would be much more likely. Old Colt double action revolvers if their not high collectors quality type guns don't have anything going for them, specially with the economy in the toilet and so many folks out of work. Only ones I have seen going for big bucks in similar condition to yours, have been the old Single Action Armies. 0 -
Thanks, Rufe. Here are some pictures. The gun belongs to a friend, and I told him I'd post it on here. Kinda sad that these old Colts aren't any more valuable than that. I know, the grips are God-awful.

I would make an effort to get some original grips or quality repos. Also very carefully try to remove the rust on the barrel with kroil and brass wool. It couldn't hurt and might bring your friend more money. 0 -
Old Colt DA's are still very collectable in my area. The markings are still strong on yours and being in 32-20 helps also. It would bring $300 easily, as is. Maybe $375 with correct grips. 0
