T C Icon
I'm attracted to this gun for it's bedding block set-up. My interest is in accuracy. Anyone with experience??? THX HAWKSHAW

I work at a range with a 300 yard set-up and have seen quite a number in the last year. All seemed to be accurate and trouble free in whatever they were chambered for. In terms of accuracy, my vote would be for a new Savage with their bedding system. Out of the box I don't believe they can be beat, and taking price into account present a better value. The Icon is very pretty by comparison though. 0 -
Thompson Center has invested a lot in the Icon rifle design, and manufacturing. It is a very robust platform for a sporting rifle, and nothing NEEDS to be adjusted in the bedding. I have had the pleasure to shoot a couple, one chambered in 30 TC(snotty little round), and 300 Win. Mag. Both were averaging around an inch at 200 yards, when I done my part, and tried to fire in between gust of wind.

I shot the original Icon in .270 a few years ago and they are indeed a shooter and pretty at that.
A co-worker was originally going to get the Venture but ended up getting the Icon in .270 instead. He got 10% discount on Veteran's Day and $150 rebate.
Good luck!

I dislike that crappy plastic 3-shot magazine. In my opinion, it has no place on a rifle with that kind of price tag. TC should have invested a little more and come up with a decent STEEL magazine. My Icon .22/.250 groups OK but my old Rem. 788 groups better although it's not nearly as pretty 0 -
