Looking for a better single stage trigger for AR15
I just purchased a S&W M&P 15. Shot it twice already maybe 400-500 rounds. The factory trigger works but I think it's on the heavy side since my trigger finger was hurting at the end of each day. I don't want to spend $$$ on a new trigger and just checked out the RRA single stage for $35. Will this be better than my stock trigger? Do the manufacturers post trigger pull on single stage triggers? Any other suggestions?

Check Midway online. They normally have something on sale AR-wise in the trigger department. Jards I think are about $60? 0 -
Thanks for the suggestions guys but the Jard is $125 and the Geisele over $200. I'm looking for something simple inthe $40-$70 range. Single stage, non-adjustable ~4 lbs. 0 -
Or should I polish the one I have installed on my gun?
This is my first AR but I used to shoot/build 1911's. I did all my trigger work back then.0 -
I installed a chrome plated hammer and trigger set in a green label Colt HBAR. The improved lubricity of the chrome helped a lot.
Tetra grease will help as will reduced weight springs. Good luck.0 -
There really is no good, cheap trigger fix. A couple of years ago, I started buying parts kits with the match trigger components as they weren't that much higher then. I would rather buy the parts kit and have the spare parts than give almost as much for just the trigger components alone. If you want a good trigger, go with one of the encapsuled units that just drop in. There are too many dimensional differences involved to achieve a really good trigger using parts bouncing around inside the lower w/o professional assistance. Be careful of "polishing" fire control parts unless you know exactly what and how to do this. You might end up with a runaway or AD. 0 -
Mobuck, thanks for the advice. I agree with you and will save a little and get a drop in unit. 0 -
Brownell's has a huge selection of after market AR parts. 0 -
Yup... I already have a wish list of parts and tools from Brownells... 0 -
You could consider sending your fire control parts to Bill Springfield and have him do a trigger job on your parts. Bill has had a good reputation for his AR trigger jobs.
His web site is triggerwork.net I believe.0 -
Sorry, but you are not going to make it any better for the price range you want to pay. You might try your hand at it, but be careful, so as not to make the rifle double. If it does it in the presence of the wrong company, you will go to jail. They take AR trigger mods seriously. The best drop in AR single stage is by Timney. Best price, for the trigger pull you will get.

tsr, I hadn't considered the legal aspects of this. More reason to just get a drop-in and not mess around with the sear. Thanks for the good advice.
Anybody know if this CMMG is decent?
