I work at an outdoor range and my simple answer, after having fired quite a few of both in the same weight range...n ot that much different at all, really. I would postulate about A 10 percent difference in felt recoil. Either is expensive to purchase, and frankly, I would go with the 300 just because of the massive number of different commercial loadings over the 325, and if reloading, there are a TON more bullet options for the 300.

The .300 kicks pretty good. And the .325 kicks just a little more.

As far as what to choose, the general consensus would be .300 because that's what we were told we needed by the Generals as far back as WWI and before. There are a lot more options with the .300, but the .325 still has pretty much every category covered that the .300 does. Just not as many individual styles of bullets. If you do go with the .325, it has a pretty much standard 1-10" twist. This will handle very heavy for caliber bullets. In same weight bullets it allows you to push them out just a smidge faster too (if you reload).

That said, I like them both. I shoot the .325 WSM from time to time and own a 7 WSM and a .300 WSM. They are very efficient cartridges.

Thanks guys. The recoil table was most interesting. It and the load choices makes it the 300 WSM. Thanks!
