Henry Pump action .22
Except for the octagon barrel, the pump action .22 rifle from Henry looks exactly like the Erma used to make for Iver Johnson of which there are two on the auction side. Is Erma making it or is Henry making it here in America like they say their lever action .22s are? Thank you.

Henry rifles are made at their Brooklyn, NY factory. They used to be Colt Blackpowder Company and made the Colt 3rd Generation "Signature Series" revolvers and rifles. 0 -
Erma has been out of business for years. I heard that Henry bought Erma's tooling and machinery, believe that why the rifles look so similar. If the rifle is marked made in U.S.A. that's where it's made. By U.S. law imported firearms have to be marked with country of origin. Always possible though that Henry could be selling a .22 pump made in Brazil, or some other foreign low wage country though. 0 -
They're made in the USA, check their website 0 -
Many thanks rufe-snow! Your answer makes the most sense. The more I look at the new ones, they're the spittin' image of the old Erma made Iver Johnson. Thanks again. 0 -
50-70RB,
Henry moved its production to Bayonne, New Jersey, a couple of years ago. The Henry- Erma tie goes back to a time when someone named Imperato worked for Ithaca Gun Company. The reference for this used to be on the old Ithaca Web site. While Henry, in fact, builds their guns in the Unted States, Ithaca imported the Erma-built Model 72 levergun, and the Erma-built pump rifle from Germany. Likewise, Iver Johnson did the same. Everything old is new again (alas, there is no pump rifle info here, just articles to show similairties to the Henry-built guns):
Into this mix, you have to add the Iver Johnson Wagonmaster, plus a variation sold by Excam. Here are some pictures & diagrams, plus articles, about these guns:

EDIT:
50-70RB,
You are very much welcome.[;)] ...and, although I did not mention it, and there are differences, the pump rifle shares a number of parts with the levergun.0 -

That would be the connection. Lou Imperato was the founder of Colt Blackpowder Firearms Company and Henry Repeating Arms Company. He passed away in 2007 and the company is now run by his son, Anthony.0 -
A BIG thank you to you as well BigLoop22! 0
