S&W Bodyguard BG380

Simple Man
Picked up a BG380 and was reading the paperwork and it read that the gun could not be sold in California. Why? Is it because of the laser site.

    California is not quick to recognize new guns on thier "approval" list...it will take time for it to make it on there. Typical horsesh** from the powers that be in Commiefornia.

    Why could be one of a few reasons--just bringing out a handgun doesn't get it on the list. The Manuf. has to submit the gun to a battery of tests which include being dropped. If it's a semi auto being submitted, which this gun is, it also has to have some extra safety features such as a loaded chamber indicator and a magazine disconnector. http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/regs/chapter5.pdf The laser has nothing to do with it. The S&W like the Ruger LCP doesn't have a Loaded Chamber Indicator(of the type CA requires anyway). The Bodyguard CAN be fired without a magazine in place-says so right on the gun so unless S&W changes that it will never be on the approved list.

    SOOOOOO tired of Ca's BS. Feel bad for those of you stuck living under the onnerous regime that has taken control out there, although the buzzards WERE elected into these positions of authority over the years. Seems only a matter of time before airguns are on the no go list in Ca.

    They're not already?

    In NJ airguns are legally considered firearms.

    To buy a Red Ryder BB pellet gun in NJ (muzzle velocity 350 fps) requires that the buyer be over 18 and obtain a license requiring fingerprinting and a background check.

    Cause you know. . .you'll shoot your eye out.
