Deer Antlers

I started hunting deer in about 1964, perhaps before. Since then I have shot a lot of Iowa Bucks. I have kept several dozen Racks safe in my garage. Just the bigger bucks I shot. Wife says they gotta go, and I agree. None officially scored, but some guys say they range from about 120 or 130 to perhaps 180 largest.

Is there any of you from say Eastern Iowa or Western Illinois that would know how to guess a price on each and then where to sell or who
to contact about them?

    DO NOT list them on ebay, they will charge you too much money and they always end up making more money on a sale then you do, then you have the PayPal fees also which takes even more away from you profit, remember PayPal is owned by ebay

    There is a post on the wanted side for a guy looking to buy antlers for his knife making...

    Be careful and check your State Game laws In the state of Va. it is not legal to sell any wild animal part that can be from an animal living it that state. Whitetail deer or Black bear Illegal Mule deer or Brown bear legal . The game commission was going around at gun shows a few years ago and telling even custom Knife makers to take any knifes off table [:(!][:(][V]even hunting coats with Antler buttons what a joke.

    Hi Perry. How are you?

    Yes, for a number of years it has been legal by law to sell antlers in Iowa. Law was passed to help stop Poaching of some of the larger Bucks here in Iowa by commercial hunting lodges in some states. Didn't help much I think.

    I know, however these are not pieces, broken, etc. I have had an offer or two from a local here and there for one or another. They were talking a few dollars above anything I knew about. That's why I am trying to find out from someone knowledgeable in my area a true value. At least for now.
