Beretta 92F Jamming
My Beretta 92F after several hundred rounds with no problem is jamming. It's failing to eject the shell and failing to reload the chamber. I am shooting with 9mm Luger Federal and PMC rounds. Not firing under heated conditions. What should I do to remedy the situation? This gun is very sentimental to me. I am shooting with 4 High Capacity magazines stamped 9mm Beretta P B.

I've posted a video of me firing the gun on my Facebook page. Feel free to view here, http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1689582324865 , I have the settings set to viewable by everyone, let me know if theres issue loading the video. 0 -
That is a highly reliable gun. The military codes it M9 and Marines M9A1 for its acceptance as proven under extreme conditions and beating out many comparable 9mm parabellums...
The problem you experience indicates a problem. Possibly with the extractor.

Joshua,
As mentioned, by design the Beretta 92 is a super-highly reliable gun. The in-line loading of rounds from the magazine and the open slide design ensure this. That is one of the major reasons it was selected by the US military after extensive testing.
So "heated conditions" shouldn't mean anything here. You should be able to rapid fire the gun literally as quickly as you can pull the trigger and control the recoil without malfunctions, even through multiple successive magazines. If the gun malfunctions just because it is hot, its defective. That's not your problem here.
Your video is grainy and its a little hard to see what's going on, other than that the gun is malfunctioning with every shot. I *think* you're getting failures to extract.
What happens when you shoot with TWO hands using a FIRM grip? Do you get the same problem? The weaker grip you get with one hand may not provide enough resistance to the slide to operate properly. Gun diehards affectionately call this "limp wristing". It doesn't have to be a large caliber gun for this to happen, I've actually seen it happen with .22 auto pistols held by novices!
Also, as mentioned in the last thread on this, what happens when you MANUALLY try to cycle the rounds through the gun? Do they eject briskly, or not?
Did you remove the extractor and take a good look at it for dirt, burrs, chips, or breaks? I posted a link to a video in the last thread on how to do this. If you're careful, you may be able to inspect it closely without actually removing it.
If you're not comfortable or competent enough to remove the extractor and you can't get a good careful look at it otherwise (and don't sweat it if you're not), then your best bet is to have the gun sent back to Beretta. They'll check it out for you and if they do find any problems they'll probably fix it for free or only a nominal cost.0
