Colt Magnum Carry

saw a Colt magnum carry at the gun show, price was $375 like new in the box was talking with the owner and I said this is like the second one I ever saw for sale...he said Colt only made a small amount and they become collectable....???????? think so

    I was given this Colt after my wife's uncle passed away. Trying to find out some info on it to determine if I should hold onto it, or simple sell it. Any help would be appreciated.

    It's a 2" barrel six-shot revolver in .357 magnum caliber, which means you can also shoot all variety of .38 Spl in it. Made one year, 1999, in stainless steel with rubber grip. Without much time to research this, I would say this is one of the last revolvers Colt made in regular production, as they phased out double action revolver production, other than the custom shop, around that time in general.

    Condition and production numbers are a factor in value, but all Colts seem to increase in value as time goes on since Colt's handgun production now is limited to Single Action revolvers, a few semi automatic pistols and very limited double action revolvers.

    Even though this is a medium/large frame revolver it will have stout recoil with .357 magnum loads. Easy shooting with .38's. As I said, condition means alot and you have not described it's condition or supplied photo's so it's unlikely you'll get values from the "experts" here. You should however go to the auction side of this website and check for sold values in the smart search area. You'll find the smart search in the upper right of the home page.

    Go to the auction side and using the Smart Search feature do a search for closed auctions for Colt Magnum Carry. There were several on there. Some sold, some didn't. This will give you a better idea what someone is willing to pay for the gun depending on the condition. If it were mine, I would hold onto it. A one year production gun will only increase in value.

    the magnum carry is a very desirable gun among colt fans. limited production and great platform.
    worth more with original box and paperwork.
    lnib you're looking at $1200.
