Have you tried looking on the sale side and seeing what similar 1911s sold for (not listed for but sold for)?

Hello Value would be tough we would really need 20 or more pictures . There are certain small parts that were unique to early pistols . I do have a extra proper Barrel for pistol before serial 6500. the main spring housing should not be that hard to come up with The sights both front and rear need to be carefully looked at and also the magazine release. also the finish would have to be closely inspected. I have no reason to believe the pistol is not correct BUT as the OLDER they get and the MORE value they MAY have the more chance That someone has tried to make them BETTER then they really are. IMHO this pistol COULD be the centerpiece of a very nice collection of 1911's BUT I for one would NEVER buy for anything approaching it's VALUE if original without a detailed HANDS ON inspection . On an auction I would bid on a semi worst case Value. In other words I would bid on

the parts I knew were correct and ASSUME all other parts were replacement and I would be willing to spend time and money replacing the incorrect parts . That way you have going in either the correct investment or one that the pistol is BETTER then what you paid for it. I would love to inspect it [:0]
EDITHello Notice the magazine release the early ones did not have a screw driver slot. Yours looks correct but slightly deeper hole then the outer ones I have examined. "almost as if Hand done" [?] be very careful and don"t let your desire cloud your judgment. I don't see any thing that raises a BIG Red Flag but I don't know your situation . The Most valuable pistol I own came from an estate NOT a DEALER or GUN SHOW If you know the seller or have reason to think this pistol has been seen for sale by very few people I would feel better about buying but If this has been shown to a large number of people or large auction house you can bet the item is still on the market because something just is not right. Remember the higher the value the MORE likely it is NOT CORRECT. I hope for your sake you get it at a good price and it ends up being Correct .As you stated a 4 digit serial number 1911 is not a everyday find.

5mm.yes I looked on the auction side but there are not alot of first year colts that have been sold, this one is from 1912 if I am not mistaken, I found 2, one sold for close to 2k that had been parkerized at Springfield armory, and 1 sold for over 8k that was still in the original blue but looked in worse shape than this one, I just wanted some educated opinions one this one before I made an offer on it.
