    grizz,

Their function is just like most of the stuff with the browning label...a step and ahalf, or two steps above Remington. They are pretty nice.

Thanks, I didn't want to run into jamming with the 410, I've got singles, bolts, and an o/u and wanted to give a pump a try.

NOTE: Browning BPS shotguns can 'jamb' if you have very short arms. John Browning was a tall, lean, long-armed man (i'm generalizing here). His guns fit that type of physic/build perfectly. But me, I'm 5 foot 6 inches and both my 12ga BPS and 20ga BPS occasionally 'jamb' on me. But it not due to a design flaw. I have very short arms. Armpit to wrist is only 18 inches. Since the BPS shotguns are bottom-eject, my wrist/lower palm (that works the forend) isn't always completely free and clear of the ejection channel furrowed out of the bottom of the forend. If the spent shell doesn't clear my hand that holds the forend, then the forked metal shell ejector/flipper can't go to it's fully down position, and until that happens, a new shell won't be fed into the chamber. Or a new shell will partially enter the receiver, but the fired shell hasn't completely cleared, as it gets hung up beyond the hollowed out ejection port in the forend, because of my hand being in the way. Well, I think you sort of get the picture. That is why I prefer Remington Wingmasters over Browning BPS's, because they have side ejection, and then my wrist can't interfere with the spent shell being ejected. But I love my Browning BPS shotguns, too, especially with the engraved receiver blanks. Browning's fit and finish is superior to Remington IMO, and their blueing seems darker and richer than Rem. If you have long arms, you will never be disappointed with a Browning BPS. The .410 you speak of is a bit heavy, though, for being such a small gauge. But because it is so nicely balanced, you don't realize how heavy it is, unless you carry it all day long. P.S. I just checked the .410 weight on their official website. Tips the scales at 7 lbs even, nominal weight.
