Check the auction side for 29s currently for sale and for those recently sold. I think you might be a little high estimating condition at 98% as it appears there is some barrel wear and the blue may be thinning some. My SWAG is $500-$550.

Why does the cylinder have a reddish cast? Has it been reblued? Having the original rear sight will add to overall value.

The plum might also be caused by bad lighting.
Incandescent lighting is orange/red within it's color temperature range. Take a Blue gun with reddish lighting and you'll get purple.

Look at the laser etching of the wording. It's still razor sharp. Smith & Wesson service doesn't laser cut on refinishing work. It's the original finish for certain.
My guess is around $600 with the scope, and the seller provides the rear sight assembly. Otherwise, less is called for.

Look at the laser etching of the wording. I don't see any laser etching on the cylinder???? It's still razor sharp. Smith & Wesson service doesn't laser cut on refinishing work. It's the original finish for certain. NOTHING is ever certain when it comes to firearms - I've learned that over the 50+ years I've been shooting and the many years of collecting and a few years of evaluating, buying and selling in gunshops. I still maintain that the cylinder looks different than the rest of the piece - I've seen, handled and shot dozens of S&Ws - MOST don't have this anomaly - even in bright sunlight - which is the ultimate lighting source. Check the edges of the muzzle end of the cylinder - they're a bit rounded.
My guess is around $600 with the scope, and the seller provides the rear sight assembly. Otherwise, less is called for. I concur on the valuation, with contingency as stated.

    NICE piece.

I paid $570 minus the rear sight, but have one. I stand by my estimate
of 98%. It looks better than the pics show, and there is no reddish cast...most definitely not refinished.

I also stand by your estimate of 98%. That is a very nice pre lock 29 you have there. The rear sight can be had for around $30.00, and the scope set up alone is worth $150.00-200.00. I would say that the whole rig is worth near $700.00
