Any body use one yet, how are they. I have been wanting to get one, but their don't seem to be alot around. I was hoping the price would come down. But since they are so limited that doesn't seem to be happening. The local gun shop has one in 45-70 i've been watching. Hoping the price would drop, but it hasn't.

    THANKS

If you're talking about the O/U SPR(??), Remington dropped the import line of firearms. EAA or USSG might have them in their imported line. As for why they stopped importing it, my question is why did they start? A couple of smaller firearms importers were doing a decent job of providing shooters with that type of firearm. Remington came along, took over the market, raised the price, and then dropped the load.

"Well actually I was talking about the SXS double rifles they imported for a short time."..........I talked to a Rem. rep. at the nra annual meeting, he said they (the russians) couldn't supply them. They'd order 10,000 and get 100.

I think the problem is with the manufacturer/supply
I almost bought one for $900. But did some investigating with other owners and there was a problem with having both barrels print close to each other vertically. Horizontally you can adjust ,there is a device on the barrels and you can vary loads/bullet/weight, but vertically you are left with the degree of assembly skill. Maybe some are ok? Anyway it was a 45/70, another was a 30/06, think you should stick with a rimmed cartridge not a /06. Would really like to have a 7x57R, why can't WE build SXS rifles?

We can. Just not in a tractor factory for US$900.
Butch Searcy's doubles start at $5250.

As I understand it making the barrels shoot to the same point of impact is almost equal parts of engineering and performance art. Which drives the production costs up. Shotguns are more forgiving.

BUY a Valmet model 412 or 512 with double barrel sets ut to 9.3X74 R you can adjust point of impact so both barrels print the same spot and then change adjustment if you change to different bullet or load.
