I recently picked up a Whitney Kennedy rifle that is missing a rear sight and magazine plug. Does anyone out there know of a source of parts for these guns? The sight dovetail appears to be 5/8". Are there any other sights that will work? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks, WK

Maybe right here if you put up some close clear pictures and a detailed description.

That would be known as the small or light frame "Sporting Rifle" manufactured from 1879 to 1886.

Your W-K was manufactured sometime between mid-October and early January 1882-3. You can contact Dale Olson at the link noted on the homepage that Spider posted. He would really be happy to talk to you about your Kennedy, and to catalog the specifics about it, to include, letting you know if it has any special features should you send him the required pictures. Dale has recently published a very handy book about the Burgess Long Range Repeating Rifle which has some info in it regarding the W-K. Should you like to learn most everything there is to know about these types of rifles, you will need to purchase the book, "Lever Action Magazine Rifles" by Sam Maxwell.
