A few years back ATF ok faxed FFL's. There is no direct thing saying email is ok, but it is no different then fax. All that is required of a NON FFL is to check the FFL against the ATF ez-check to confirm the FFL is good.

As a non licensee you need nothing more than the FFL number so any copy of the license: Hard copy, FAX or e-mail is fine.

Actually, there is a letter floating around somewhere which equates "electronic transmission" to a fax, thereby allowing emailed copies.

I'll see if I can find it.

FFL Newsletter, January 2007. Basicly says that just about anything is acceptable, as long as you verify with EZ-Check.

Yep. You can read it here:

An article in the August 2005, FFL Newsletter states that faxed copies of federal firearms licenses (FFLs) are now acceptable. We have received many inquiries about acceptance of other "electronic" versions of licenses such as e-mailed or scanned copies. After further review of this issue, ATF has determined that scanned or e-mailed versions of licenses are also acceptable.

Uh.........so the statement on the front of my license isn't direct enough?
