You might post you question(s) to John Stimson's High Standard collectors site, if none of our folks can help.

He is a long time collector of High Standard firearms, and very knowledgeable about them.

I owned one of their Derringers years ago. Recall they were sold blued or plated, never made out of stainless steel though. It's possible that the work that were done to yours was aftermarket rather then factory. This would have a negative affect on their value, vis a vis that they were sold in the condition you describe directly from the High Standard factory.

On closer inspection the box is not factory. Very well made, but is mahogany and the red felt looks cheesey, more like red fur. Pistols are pristine and unfired. Serial #s show 1975 production per High Standard site. They are nickel plated also per site. Did High Standard offer these consecutive # pieces in seperate boxes, perhaps? Any more input is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ischia

Any time you have consecutively numbered commercial firearms it's just a matter of either luck, or perhaps a wholesaler/distributor contacting the factory with a specific request for them. Since the original Conn. High Standard company has been out of business for better then 25 years, not likely your going to find out from them. You might post your question to John Stimpson on his forum, he might know.
