These pistols are 100 years old and most well used. Does it have value[?] YES ANY first generation colt Single action has value and a US marked frame will bring more then a civilian model. Will it ever be more then just a shooter[?] Not in my opinion unless someone else has a early military Cylinder Grips and Barrel. Then they may use the best parts from all the parts and make a FAKE ARTILLERY model. Most real Artillery models will have mismatched serial numbers but they were put together either by COLT on contract to the army or one of the military arsenals.

Someone may buy it just for the frame. Does it have any inspector's stamps?

Being an antique is a plus, too, since you can send it directly to the purchaser. I would start it off around $500 - $600 and let the market do its job. You just may be surprised at the final bid.

I see I wasn't clear in my post. It has its original artillery cylinder in now and I have its artillery barrel (cut off) with it but removed. Grips as I said are modern made one piece but look believable.

The modern cylinder is now removed but on hand. The modern barrel is installed.

I see SAAs that look a lot worse priced at over a mille. Thanks again.

Pictures would help. We could only go on your description.
