Garand
Is it OK load load 180 grain bullets for a Garand?
I know you should'nt for the M1A.
And I know only use med. burn rate powders. (4064, varget etc.)

It's at the upper end, but yes. My NRA book gives M1 loads with that bullet weight.
Edit: If you do this, stick with the 4064 you suggest, or 4895, or another Garand friendly powder. I'd post the data but I don't have access to the book right offhand.0 -

Or you could also get an adjustable gas valve. 0 -
Typical load is 150 for m1 garand loads.
That is a military rifle and 180 should not be to rough for it.0 -
carefull when loading for the garand, they will bend op rods and have other issues with powders that they were not made for. 0 -

I am aware to only use medium burn rate powders in Garand.
I have two books on the Garand, one says ist OK to use 180 grain, but no heavier, and the other book says 175 is the max.
The Garand I have is just a shooter, but I still want to be nice to it!0
