Type 38 Arisaka
A guy offered me an Arisaka in 6mm. This rifle would have had to have been rebarreled wouldn't it? I have one that was rebarreled to .257 Roberts.

The Japanese had several models of rifles during WW-2. The primary was the Type 99 in 7.7mm Jap. Introduced in 1939/40, it was brand new and issued in limited numbers at the outbreak of war. As production continued to wars end, more and more were issued and used.
Prior to the T-99, the T-38 in 6.5mm Jap was the primary Japanese battle rifle. (w/several variations). Produced from 1905 to 1939, it was the rifle most commonly encountered by U.S. Troops early in war. In places such as Guadal Canal.0 -
