Mod. 97 question
I have a solid frame 1923-1924 mfg. 12 ga. with rather fine checkering on the small forward portion of the stock. Could this be original that came on the gun?

Bought a really excel. solid frame 1923-1924. However the neck of the stock is checkered! Replacement or what? Thanks in advance 0 -
Why yes it could. Does it say trap grade on the bolt? Is the stock also checkered? 0 -
No trap indications, 28 1/2" brl., std. cyclinder or barrel fore arm. The stock appears to have the same "straight grip" configuration as the one shown in the referenced auction. Checkering has double outline with a "diamond" shape left in the center on the checkering. Checkering ends maybe 1" or so into the stock area. Not carried as far as the one in the auction photo. Gun is in VERY good shape but was curious as to the stock being original or not. Thanks 0 -
If it has attachment screws on both sides, it's probably a replacement for a diamond grade trap gun. It actually sounds like a complete trap gun with a straight grip checkered stock. The barrel should have a roll printed wavey line on the top. 0
