Winchester 94 .32 Year Made & Correct Butt Plate??

I have added serial number of rifle below.
I recently bought a Winchester 94 lever action .32 special. According to the serial number it was made in 1940. I has been well taken care of. But the original butt plate has been removed and missing. A Western Feild recoil pad has been added. I would like to replace the recoil pad with an orignal butt plate again.
My question is what would be the correct butt plate for a Winchester 94 .32 special made in 1940? I have done some checking and they made both metal and plastic. The metal butt plate seems to be the one that was original. But I have heard they made 2 different metal types butt plates. So to try and get the correct butt plate I would like any help I can get.
I AM PUTTING IN THE SERIAL NUMBER TO HELP WITH FINDING THE CORRECT YEAR THE RIFLE WAS MADE AND ALSO THE CORRECT BUTT PLATE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE RECOIL PAD CURRENTLY ON THE RIFLE. THE SERIAL NUMBER IS 11671XX. THANKS.
If any of you could please give me some feedback on what is the correct butt plate. Also any information on one that is for sale that would be the correct one.

    Gary: Go to the 3rd item under Ask the Experts:
    Winchester Model 94, 55, & 64 Survey request.
    Scan through the many pages and you will find examples of some buttplates that were used at different times. Also, search for the Winchester 94 for sale on GB and look for ones made about the time of yours. These pictures should help you identify the correct one. Also search for Winchester 94 buttplate and you may find some for sale. Good Luck, Don [?]
