mathews N.C.

I have what I believe to be a Kimel industries .45 cal carbine / rifle. It has Matthews N.C. on the right side. It looks like an Eagle or a Commando. It looks like a proto type as some of it is cut away. My grandfather had this and he passed away in 1978. Can you tell me what I have?
