Ruger M77 MKII
I have a M77 MKII in 30/06, I have had it for years and need some advice on the trigger. Would like to either have a trigger job done it by a reputable gunsmith or would I be better off just installing a aftermarket trigger.

I have a M77 MKII in .338WM and opted for the spec-tech trigger ($70) ...

... and very please with it's performance. It is currently set at 2.5 pounds.
Good luck!

Thanks, did you install it yourself. I really like my Ruger just wish it had a better trigger.quote:Originally posted by FEENIX

After installing one Timney, I paid a smith to install one in another 77. Had to show him how, but he had the tools, which made it a 20 minute job instead of 3 hours. These days I am unimpressed with Timney's quality, I would go with a Jewel, and I would pay a smith. 0 -
Installing an overtravel stop screw on the Mk.II is very easy. That combined with Wolfe Springs results in a greatly improved trigger pull for minimal cost. I've had Canjar and other high end triggers and for my hunting rifles the modified Mk.II trigger is all I need.
To each his own.
Email me if you want any more info on the overtravel stop.0 -
Yes I did, no mod required and was very easy to install ... been shooting/hunting with it safely for two years now.
This is how she shoots with Hornady .225gr SST factory ammo.
