T/C Encore rifled shotgun - What kind of groups?
I've been having a lot of fun with my Contender over the years. So I recently splurged and bought an Encore as well.
I live in a state that is shotgun or muzzleloader only for deer and have been thinking about getting back into using a shotgun (at least some of the time) - my Savage ML is hard to beat.
Anyway, saw some Encore rifled shotgun barrels going cheap and bought one. I'm very interested in the lighter weight sabot slugs (around 300 grains).
Is any body out there shooting these out of an Encore and if so, what kind of results are you getting?
I've hunted with many different rifled slug guns over the years and my perception is that the Encore should be a little more accurate than most others, but if this isn't the case, I may just resell that barrel and stick with the ML. In other words, If I can't shoot it confidently out to 200 yards, I won't be using it.
