ES and SD- Chrony question
What are these terms and how are they used. I write all my speeds down and not sure of the way to use these. I believe the ES is the highest and lowest reading ever recorded, for that load? The SD is normal deviation for a group? How is that figured, averaged for several groups?
Thanks

most Chronographs have a program built in to give you SD 0 -

It's kinda complicated so I'll let the experts tell it.0 -
ES, extreme spread, you're right, difference between highest and lowest recorded velocities.
SD, standard deviation, as already suggested, complex and best explained by the experts. Essentially a measure of expected variation of a given percent of rounds in a sample of given size. Smaller is better. Zero would be ideal, but will never happen.0
