The cartridge stop is worn and letting the next round in the magazine slip in under the one that is loaded.

Worn, or it's got crap packed in behind it. It's a High Standard model 200, here's a schematic/parts list:

I have one just like it. shells stay in the magazine when i

pump it. if you bend (tweak) the cartridge stop a bit, but not too

much (the longer right hand one) would help you. That requires you

to punch out the retaining pins. Then remove the trigger assembly,

bolt, flipper, and stops. Clean the receiver throughly, gunk at the

back will not let the bolt go fully back, causing the flipper and

    stops to not work right.

It's a $100.00 gun so taking it to a gunsmith would cost you

    more than the guns worth.

On mine the operating bar that retracts the bolt was replaced

and required a lot of hand fitting. I need to smooth it down more

as the bolt hangs up and the internals arn't coordinated. Looking

at it....it's a very cheap design and only functions well when very

    clean.

Just look at the mechanism as you pump it dry and see how the

parts work, you'll get an idea what's wrong. good luck

Thanks, Emmett, Trap & Thor --

You're right, it's not worth much to anybody but me !

I'll take a look at the insides and see what's going on.

I truly appreciate the help --
