44 cal H&R shotgun value
Hi
Have someone interesting in purchasing this shotgun, and I have NO idea what to put for a price on it. Any opinions? Bore is near perfect, and it has a 3 digit serial number. Appears someone soldered the stud onto the barrel and it is rusting around the solder, but doesn't show with the forearm in place.
Also, would this qualify as a C&R? I don't find it on the lists, but it is definitely over 50 years old. Photos listed below

Thanks for any help.
Dave

That's an H&R Small Bore/Small Frame Double Hammer Gun. First made in 1909 in .44 shot shell (.44-40XL shot, Marble's Gamegetter .44) and 28 ga. Later examples made in early .410 bore, 28 ga and 20 ga. up to early 1920s. Only a couple thousand made. They are rare - minimum value $600 - $800 in fair condition - good to v. good $1000+...desireable piece to H&R and shot gun collectors
Looks like someone used acid core solder to fasten the stud to the barrels - you need to stop the rust. Pics show quite a bit of discoloration and staining here and there????.

Thanks for the info. Will clean up the rust and touch up the bluing there, now that I've taken it apart and know it's there. 0
