If you're reading this, I also urge you to stay! These guys are USUALLY extremely friendly and even more helpful! I cannot count the number of times they've helped me. Stick around and give em another chance. Everyone has a bad day sometimes and I see they've already apologized. Ohh, and WELCOME!!! 0 -

Yeah, I saw that, and I'd like to apologize for the abrupt behavior of some of the other shooters. Posting on the internet makes some people forget their manners, and in particular its possible to lose patience with individuals who post sort of vague questions.
You wouldn't believe how many people post on this forum with some variation on "I have this revolver from my grandpa. . .what's it worth"? (Answer: between $5 and $50,000. . .it might be possible to narrow it down further with a BIT more information).
The reason I didn't chime in on this in the original thread is that 7 replies had already been used up and the topics generally only get 10 replies before they're locked up by a moderator.
No point in using up one of the few remaining replies just to chide the other posters, or just repeating the call for more information, when there was nothing I could really add to answering the original question.
Anyway, now that you've posted actual pictures in another thread, its nice to see that you have your answer.
For what its worth, I'd agree with the opinion of the other board posters. Pretty much ANY normal Hi-Power in decent shooting shape should be worth at least $350, and a bit more is still possible.0 -
Howdy again,
Since 'twas I who first chided, a bit of explanation on why is with the following two comments posted:
1) THIS comment was totally uncalled for... "Some people should engage brain before posting". A direct insult that may reflect easily for a new-comer towards the whole forum. Which writer has not apologized for.
2) And perhaps this,"I would think you SHOULD be concerned about price BEFORE buying it not after!", as borderline offensive. Yet to be fair, the imperfect written word not always conveys the true demeanor of author, and the writer did offer up a sorry for, sort of.
Fully realizing in responding uses up of the ten limit posts per topic, I felt is was well worth addressing as the post/topic already had gone to hell anyways. For what's the old saying?... "To stand by in silence can be as just as wrong as the wrong committed", or something like that. Enough said.
And back to what we're all here for.
Respectfully,

This post it for you and 45er-- My apology was not a sorry sort of i truly meant it. Who are you to THINK you knew what i meant in my apology?. To me your post is more harsh then my asking why she did not check out the price before buying which is ACTUALLY sound advise i just did not elaborate further and i should have!. I meant no harm and i said i was sorry so DROP IT already0
