DOM on a Remington Model 760 GameMaster

My F.I.L. has this rifle that he received from my M.I.L's brother after he passed away. I'm going deer hunting with my F.I.L., my first hunt, and he is giving me this rifle to use. Its a 30-06 with a Redfield 4x scope.
Anyone have any idea as to what year this gun may have been produced? I'm guessing late 60's/early 70's maybe???
Sidenote...
I have zero experience with a rifle. We went to the range yesterday and I was surprised at how well I shot it but I must say the scope is zeroed in pretty well. Shooting a 5.5" target, on eight shots from 100 yards, I was on the target on all eight shots with one in the center ring and four more in the next ring...shooting from a bench with no rest. F.I.L said all eight shots were good enough to kill a deer at that distance...I'll have to take his word for it since I've never shot a deer...

Remington long guns made between the early 20's and early 70's, usually have a date code on left side of the barrel,( above the wood line),just forward of the receiver. It usually a two or three letter code. Go to the following link to decipher the code.

I don't think the date from that website is the correct date of manufacture for the 760. The letters on the barrel are "LZ" which dated to February, 1931 on the site you provided. From all that I've read, the 760 GameMaster wasn't introduced until 1952. Doing a little more research, I found that the serial number is dated between 1975-1978, so, my guess is it was probably manufactured in last 1975 or early 1976.

Remington Year of Manufacture Codes maybe found on the barrel of your Remington rifle [or shotgun] on the left side, just forward of the receiver; the first letter of the Code is the month of manufacture, followed by one or two letters which are the year of manufacture. For shotguns with removeable barrels, the code will be valid for the manufacture of the barrel; maybe for the receiver, as barrels do get switched around.
According to the "Blue Book of Gun Values", the coding continues as follows:

As maybe seen, the year code letters duplicate; some knowledge of when the model was introduced should resolve the actual year of manufacture.

According to my calculations, your rifle was mfg'd. in Feb. of 1975.. The barrel code "Z" shows up more than once....
