Mossberg Model 935 With 2 3/4 Shells

I have a Mossberg Model 935 which is marked "Chambered or 3 and 3 1/2 inch shells." The gun functions very well with the larger shells, but I would like to a standard 2 3/4 inch shell. I have tried the standard AA 2 3/4 inch shells and they load into the magazine, chamber, and fire with no problem, but the shells jam during extraction and ejection. I suspect the cause is the lower chamber/barrel pressure that is not sufficient to drive the piston back against the spring, causing the bolt to not move fully to the rear.

What can I do to shoot 2 3/4 inch shells in tyhis gun? Is it possible to change the piston, spring, or whatever so it will fully function with 2 3/4 shells?

    I am not sure on this gun.

    Many other semi autos will only cycle 1 1/8oz loads or heavier. Make sure to look at the box and see what you have. I got a case of 1oz loads one time and could not figure out why my normally reliable guns were not cycling.

    This is a no brainer if the gun says 3 and 3.5 that's all it is desgined to shoot. Maybe a gunsmith can lighten it but I dont recommend that..

    It is possible however to buy a 930 made to shoot 2.75 and 3in and drop the whole 3.5 all together.

    I have one in the shop and they are NOT designed to handle any 2 3/4" shells.. 3 and 3 1/2 only..
