Looking at a HI Power at my local gun shop in .40 that has some sort of a nickel finish and has pachmayer grips which look to be factory. When I look HI Powers up in the Blue book for a description it seems that there are two different styles of nickel HI Powers. One refers to them having a gold trigger and the other refers to Walnut grips as well as different finishes. The gun that I am looking at has the made in Belgium stamped on it. Below are the only two that I can find on GB to compare it to. Any thoughts on this?? Thanks in advance.

Without pictures we cant tell if factory finish or aftermarket BLING redo. if factory finish the value of a BLUE gun + $$ however I suspect this is an after-market refinish. If so then value will only be for a shooter.

Hi, i bought a browning hi power pistol, 9mm, shiny chrome w/gold detail, black p grips, can anyone tell me what it might be worth?

I would think you SHOULD be concerned about price BEFORE buying it not after!

Some people should engage brain before posting [:0][B)]
Perry is right about posting pictures for a guestimate on value of your HP.

If your pistol looks like this one it was made by Browning from the early to mid 80's, just under 12,000 were made. The finish is called "Nickel/Silver Chrome". Quite collectable now. If factory original would be in the $500-$750 range depending on condition.

I was not trying to be nasty sorry if it came out that way. Usually the blue book of gun values covers you pretty good also. If you are going to start in the gun hobby it is a good idea to pick up a copy or go to the library as they should have an up to date copy also.

!WOW! is right, krazyboutguns!!! (if you even come back here, which would not blame one iota if you do not for the "warm" welcome you recieved).

A new person with a first post comes here seeking info and gets her newness shoved condencendingly down her throat? Bad form-- we're not all like that.

Ok, I edited, toned my reply, after cooling off a bit. Why get hooked into the trolls, eh.

Alright, thank you......maybe we can start this again, My name is Karen, ive been a pawnbroker for almost 20 yrs, i love guns, have seen many over the yrs, but, small town, and sometimes i get something my way that im not quite sure of. I will try and post pictures of mine later today, it looks alot like the picture rufe-snow posted (thank you) but mine has a ring hammer, and more gold detail. I really would like to stay a part of this forum, its very interesting, and i have alot to learn, i think this is the place to learn from. Thanks again.
