Cleaning Old Equipment

I have just been given some old equipment. It is a RCBS press with a little of surface rust, and a MEC 12 ga reloading press (i do not know what model). How would I get the surface rust off? Would I use steel Wool or fine grit sand paper with some oil? It has been in a barn subjected to the cold for about 10 years. Needs a lot of cleaning up. Thanks!

  000 steel wool (best to use bronze wool for no rusting) and some oil. Don't go overboard wit the scrubbing, it comes of easy. Be sure to keep it oiled afterwards.
  
  Kroil is the best, and is cheap.

  Bead blast with either baking soda or walnut hulls. I would NOT use any sand paper. Sanded metal will Rust again very fast.

  thanks!!! I have a lot of kroll oil lying around because it is cheap!
