I was looking to buy a walther p22 5" barrel. I wanted to see if anyone out there has compared, actually shot, this pistol to other pistols in the $300-$400 price range. Interested in accuracy and reliability. I'm not looking for a serious competition target gun, just one for every day plinking and general range shooting. I'm also considering the browning buckmark and sig trailside. Any feedback on these pistols would be appreciated. 0 -
Issc m22 glock
Hmm, mine works like a champ...Give it a couple hundred and see.0 -
Is there a question here?
Discussions are better addressed in the "General discussion" forum.
My experience with .22 semiautos in general, and .22 conversions in particular, is that many of them are fairly ammo sensitive.
Also, in general, many new .22s will benefit quite a bit from an extended break in involving a brick or two of ammo being cycled through the gun.
They'll run nearly 100% with one sort of ammo, then choke 30% of the time (or more) with another. Gun A will run GREAT with one sort of ammo, and choke on another type that runs Gun B perfectly, and vice versa. Even different individual guns of the same exact make and models can have different reliabilities with the SAME type of ammo (presumably due to slight differences in magazines, feed angles, and slide and firing pin spring tension).
In *general* I've found that most guns will run well with solid all lead 40 grain high velocity rounds. (CCI "minimags" work well, and if you're looking for a cheap alternative, usually so do the Federal "automatch" rounds).0 -
i've had no problems with my CZ Kadet after the first few hundred rounds. Had to season the bore is all, now it shoots better than i can. Of course, it is hard to go wrong with the Ruger MK i-iii series of pistols, and much cheaper, but not quite the same sex appeal at the range. 0
