Winchester 1886 38.70 Pics and additional info
Here are the pictures of the 1886 38.70. Additionally, the rear sight is not original. I am not sure of the front. On the underside of the stock, way back when, someone carved holes in the stock to secure ammunition in. Those holes were filled and the metal plate and swivel "D" ring was installed for aesthetic value. As stated in my previous forum, the weapon has a 30" octagon barrel and is in 38.70 caliber. I have the CFM letter stating it was received in their warehouse on May 20, 1900 and shipped out on May 26, 1900, order number 59461. Can someone help me figure out how to attach photo's??? I am striking out...I am computer illiterate.

Even though your Model 1886 Sporting Rifle has a relatively rare 30-inch barrel, and it is one of fewer than (850) that were made in 38-70 W.C.F., the overall graded condition is not very good, and as such, the collector value is significantly reduced.
I do not have a good feel for what it is worth, as it will be viewed differently by nearly every single Winchester collector.0
