terminology
At the risk of ridicule, can someone define some terms I see on making a PPS semi? 1) A denial cut on top of reciever 2) 6,8,or10 parts US made for compliance. Not a clue what these terms mean but sure want to not get my tail in the Alphabet Boy's sights. I thought changing out the trigger mech and making a free float firing pin in the bolt would legalize the piece. Am I real far off?

The original receiver has to be destroyed. A new U.S. fabricated receiver and associated parts has to be used that functions as a closed bolt mechanism. Cosmetically it can appear to be a PPS but none of the original receiver or innards can be used. Also the barrel has to be at least 16" long, unless it's papered as a sbr. 0 -
Thanks for the reply. Saw an ad for a flat reciever that, when pressed into shape, a cut on the top creates a "denial" (I believe that's what he called it). Don't know its purpose, but other than that, I don't see any differance from the original. Whether or not the bolt is open or closed is determined by the trigger assembly. Really not trying to argue what I don't know. Just don't see why reinventing the wheel is necessary.I kinda' have a problem being told I have to do something that I don't understand and doesn't make sense. I've got three x-wives that will attest to that. The difference is one says if you don't comply you'll go to prison. The other says comply and you're in prison (of sorts). 0 -

Chances are the flat receiver is for a phoney decorator type gun to hang on the wall. You can't use the original trigger assembly because the gun was originally a selective fire firearm. Chances are that the selective fire mechanism is a integral part of the trigger assembly.0
