Winchester model 1886 in 38.70
Have a Winchester model 1886 in 38.70. 30" Octagon barrel Serial is 121937. Have Cody Letter. Looks like blued barrel and case finish receiver. Rough but not in bad shape. Knowing condition is large part of value can someone give me a ball park. I don't know if the 38.70 caliber is good or the kiss of death in value....

No offense meant, but "rough but not in bad shape" doesn't cut it for valuation purposes.0 -
Both the caliber (cartridge) and the barrel length are very desirable, and as such, they definitely add value to the package.
That said, and as rufe-snow pointed out, there is no possible way to assess the collector value of it sight unseen.0 -
