Refinishing a bead blasted revolver
I recently purchased the major parts of a S&W American that was apparently bead blasted to remove rust. I am SLOWLY accumulating the internal parts to rebuild it, but need advise on polishing it in order to re-blue it. I do realize it will never have the value of one with original finish, but would love to restore this lovely Lady.
The current finish is similar to the Colt in this auction:

Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated.

It realy depends on the type of blue finish you want and who is going to do it. A friend of mine did a cold rust blue on his Model 3
that was correct for the age of the piece, but very labor intensive.
Still it looks great. Since your gun is already disassembled and without rust it should make life a bit easier. Good luck.0
