Stoeger-Cougar 9mm
Hello,
Has someone in this forum tried a Stoeger-Cougar 9mm, 3,6"Barrel?
Is the recoil minimal? My wife wants a SIG-Sauer 250 Compact, but a Salesperson in a Gunshop advised me to check a Stoeger-Cougar 9mm.
Any comments and advise? Thanks.
Walt

I've had one of these and I loved it. It's the cheaper made version of its predecessor, the Beretta Cougar. It's a great bang for your buck and is a good shooter. I bought mine without looking back. The P250 is a decent pistol too, but I'd probably take the stoeger myself. If you can pick one up for around $350 you should be in great shape. My two cents... 0 -
Stoeger is an original Beretta design built on original Beretta machinery by a Beretta subsidiary in Turkey, to save on labor costs.
Its the same gun as the Beretta Cougar, only with a slightly lower quality finish, and a dramatically lower price tag.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, if the gun fit my hand.0 -
Available in 9mm, 40S&W, & now .45ACP. Check this website for several PDF downloadable reviews:

They weren't very popular under the Beretta name plate. Can't imagine that has changed much.
I think I handled one when they 1st came out as Beretta and found the slide hard to grasp.0 -
I have never had a problem with Beretta's qulaity - just their price.
The 9mm Stoeger that I purchased is very comfortable to carry, easy to oppperate and accurate.0 -
There are two Beretta Cougars
One a 9mm Luger and the other a 380, similar to the Beretta 19340 -
