winchester model 70 .375 H&H magnum
How can I tell what year my Winchester .375 H&H Magnum was made? I understand if its pre 1964 its value increases greatly.

Well on some of the older ones, there is a two didgit number on the underside of the barrel. (right in front of the reciever) Mine was a "54". 0 -
Give me a serial and I will give you the year,

The last Pre-64 Model 70 serial number is 581471. Anything lower will fall into that category. Barrel stamps were used until 1956 and indicate the year the barrel was made and do not necessarily indicate the year of manufacture (indicated by the serial number) as some barrels remained in inventory for several years before being used. This is particularly possible in lower volume calibers like the .375. Pre-War versions will have a little more additional value (before approx. 58,000 serial #). Super Grades have substantially more value than Standard rifles (almost double) but in either case condition and originality are the key factors. 0 -
You have to remember that there was only 14,005 of these manufactured pre 64.
