Remington Model 4, 7400 thread size?

Looking for the thread size for the drilled and tapped holes in the Model 7400 Remington for scope base mounting. Thanks in advance!

  8-40 The 760s and 742s were 6-48 , in 1980 they made them bigger in the 7400s and 7600s . 4 & 6
