Making custom reloading die set
If I have a chamber reamer and a resizer reamer...can I get a set of reloading dies made? I have heard RCBS and Redding are very good...but expensive.

sure, they make blank dies 0 -
You have to know what your doing machine shop wise. There are different types of reamers made to remove larger or smaller amounts of metal. Unless you understand this and have a lathe that runs true so that finished internal surface of the die is concentric with the external threads I wouldn't attempt to make reloading dies. This holds true for your local machinist/machine shop. Just because he has a lath and a mill doesn't mean he qualified to make your dies. 0 -
5mmgunguy,
I think we've covered this a couple of times either here or in the Reloading forum.
Yes, you can get custom reloading dies made from several suppliers/manufacturers.
Yes, they are expensive because they are a single set-up, single event production. As such, they do not benefit from the mass production cost savings.
As stated, you can get good die blanks and have your gunsmith make a set for you or you can contact one of about a dozen custom makers to help with a particular project. A good search engine will generate a list of known makers.

If you give me the specifics of exactly what you want to do and make, I will try to narrow down the field with appropriate makers to save you some time.

Use the chambering reamer for the seating die and the resizer reamer to make the resizer die.
It's no big deal for a machinist to thread 7/8-14 cold rolled steel
and sink your chambers to your dimensions.
You need to tell him with a drawing or sketch those dimensions.
Also you need to work out a seater and expander.
These dies can be soft and not hardened but internal finish has to be polished.
I've had a number of dies made for experimental cartridges very inexpensively.0
